POSITION SUMMARY

The Product Line Manager is responsible for providing engine product expertise to facilitate the repair and overhaul process of a specific engine series, type, and product lines. This individual should be considered a Subject Matter Expert in their respected field for a specific engine series or type.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Oversee one or several small teams performing the disassembly, inspection, balancing, assembly, troubleshooting and testing of engines.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Shipping/Receiving with digital accuracy in SAP includes creating a GRPO and issuing parts with the correct dates of completion.
  • Ensure the issuing of parts for each Work Order/Production Order (SAP) as required, with attention to detail.
  • Maintains record of components, parts, and tools issued.
  • Assist with performing weekly and monthly inventory counts per company guidelines.
  • Ensure that components being received for Purchase Orders are checked for proper part number, nomenclature, and serial number.
  • Receiving Purchase Orders in SAP and maintaining records.
  • Verifying all the appropriate paperwork is included during the receiving process.
  • Notifying the Logistics Manager immediately when there is a discrepancy.
  • Make copies of Purchase Orders, and verify documentation and files in the stock room.
  • Routes original copy to Inspection for the Receiving Inspection.
  • Identifying, controlling, segregating, and maintaining all stock and tools to a serviceable condition; and area for those tools in unserviceable category as designated.
  • Preservation of all articles, parts, and components while carried in inventory; including parts and/or materials subject to deterioration or shelf-life specifications as noted on the posted listing.
  • Maintaining an adequately marked area to store customer-supplied parts and identify the customer’s containers as required.
  • Act as a backup for Repair/Overhaul parts if the Logistics Lead is absent, or when required based on demand.
  • Ensure that components being sent out for Repair/Overhaul are checked for proper part number, nomenclature, and serial number.
  • Receiving Repair Orders in SAP and maintaining records.
  • Identifying the part number, nomenclature, and serial number as noted on the shipment documents.

Position Scope: The Powerplant Engineer is responsible for preparing and clarifying aircraft-specific engine type repair work scopes and evaluating/predicting estimated on-wing engine operation times based on build requirements. The Powerplant Engineer is expected to perform technical advisory/guidance in the disassembly, inspection, repair, assembly, and testing of specific types of jet engines. The Powerplant Engineer must support other functions, including Repair Materials and Quality, in routine technical questions and issues.

Key Job Responsibilities: 

  • Develop engine repair work scopes and associated work instructions by considering all specific evaluation factors, including but not limited to service bulletins, advisories, performance requirements, and modification requirements.
  • Review incoming records for work scope applicability. Ensure the execution of Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives to meet regulatory, customer, and OEM requirements.
  • Interpret the aircraft maintenance manuals, engine shop manuals, customer requests, and other approved technical data into actions or an actionable digital format that can be completed locally and within the bounds of the Quality system.
  • Partner with Production and Planning to coordinate work scopes to effectively complete engine repairs in the shop and offsite locations worldwide.
  • Initiate DRs/DICAs and follow through disposition. Engage OEM Product Support Engineering and other resources to eliminate repair process constraints and ensure production workflow continues seamlessly.
  • Prepare Engineering Orders to implement repairs or alterations to engines and engine components.
  • Technical knowledge in both wide-body and narrow-body commercial engines. Preferred engines include CF6-80, PW4000, GE90, Trent 800, CFM56, and CF34.
  • Participate in problem-solving to reach a technical solution.
  • Resolve technical questions from the shop regarding the engine, work scope, tooling, consumables, configuration, and capability.
  • Prepare engineering substantiation for minor repairs that have been developed.
  • Analyze and develop tooling Equivalents to support shop tooling constraints.
  • Work to determine and recommend alternate solutions when faced with a challenge.
  • Support Operations in solving assembly, configuration, inspection, and repair problems.
  • Evaluate engine performance trends and troubleshoot recommendations.
  • Support Operations in troubleshooting rejected engines in a test cell.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement programs by complying with all policies and procedures, completing all required training, and supporting all applicable committee activities.

 

Job Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering OR at least 15 years of direct experience in Aerospace Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) or Engine OEM (No exceptions).
  • Minimum eight years of extensive experience and knowledge of one or all CF6, CFM56, CF34, GE90, and Trent 800 Engine Series.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Perform disassembly and assembly of jet engines, modules, submodules, components, and assemblies in accordance with all regulatory, original manufacturer, customer, and company requirements using hand tools, power tools or specified equipment.
  • Interpret technical specifications, directives, and relevant publications to identify product discrepancies and deficiencies.
  • Interpret technical standards, drawings, specifications, and other relevant documentation using mechanical precision measuring tools and instruments as required; verify the conformance of parts to manuals and blueprints with respect to measurements.
  • Troubleshoot to identify problems, adjust and repairs products according to specifications and established procedures.
  • Use machines, tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, shop equipment and consumables necessary to carry out the required tasks.

  • Conducting initial inspection including Borescope on incoming engines including accessories and Quick Engine Change (QEC) inventory.
